Great post Ashley.

I've learned something about greenwashing and also what I could do to help. Informative, concise, well written. Well done.

I believe that this "app" business is just a phase, and that most people will get tired of the empty silliness. However, I'm sure there are some apps with redeeming value (i.e.: Scabulous).

Anyway, having a common site to maintain connections is extremely valuable. This is the underlying problem with the array of social sites out there. It's interesting to note that some of them are starting to align (Linkedin and Facebook, for instance).

Ashley,

You seem to imply that Dunkin has a better "social responsibility" program than Starbucks.

Ashley,

One of the problems of Starbucks, I think, is that in attempting to grow so fast, the company has lost its reputation for quality coffee.

These days, comparisons to McDonalds are no longer uncommon, and this shows just commoditized Starbucks coffee has become.

The company needs to go back to brewing the best quality coffee and providing customers with a truly relaxing experience.

Although I go to Dunkin' Doughnuts more regularly, Starbucks still serves the higher quality coffee.

Cheers

Living in New York has definitely brought out your sense of humor! That is one of the funniest things I have read in a long time. Do you think I should add one of those demented cows to our ranch? I will call in a couple of days.
